Your Data
Where XtraSafe data lives, and how to export or delete it.
XtraSafe has no accounts and no servers. All app data, including vault contents, thumbnails, detection results, settings and activity history, lives on your device, encrypted inside the app's private storage. There is nothing to delete on our side, because we never receive anything.
Exporting your media
- Back to Photos: select items in the vault and choose to export. Copies are decrypted and returned to your Photos library (iOS) or saved to a location you choose (Mac).
- Encrypted backup: Settings → Backup lets you export a passphrase-protected backup file to a location you choose. Only your passphrase can open it.
Export, backup, and restore are always available on the free plan.
Deleting data
- Single items: move items to the vault's trash. Trash is emptied permanently after 30 days, or immediately if you choose.
- Erase vault: Settings → Erase permanently destroys all vault contents and the keys that protect them, on the device.
- Delete the app: removing XtraSafe deletes the vault and all app data. Without your encrypted backup and its passphrase, this cannot be undone by you or by us.
Backups you created
Encrypted backup files you exported are under your control, stored wherever you saved them. Deleting a backup file permanently removes that copy. Backup files cannot be opened without the passphrase you set.
